Spreading Summer Through October

Posted by Conway Wilcox on

Looking for an endless summer? Warmer weather, longer sunny days and crystal clear waters make for spur-of-the-moment getaways! So pack your favorite Sea Star Beachwear Beachcomber Espadrilles with your summer essentials. Travel to a destination where you can take advantage of October before committing to colder seasons.

Below are four hot spots where surge pricing and large crowds have minimized while sunshine, boat rides and warm beaches remain!

1. Santorini, Greece

Escape to the quiet and romantic getaway island and visit the breathtaking views and volcanic landscape of Santorini. Rent a convertible or ATV to zip around towns, or even take a donkey ride down to Amoudi Bay, and end with cliff jumping overlooking Oia.

Be sure to bring Sea Star Beachwear’s signature waterproof espadrilles - perfect for those rocky beaches and cliff jumping! After a drive down to Kamari Beach, renowned for its luscious black sand, take a nice walk along the waterfront with your espadrilles and fisherman tote. End the day with a stroll through the towns of Fira and Oia - great places for magnificent sunset views, amazing Greek cuisine and shopping! Yamas to that!

2. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Discover one of Mexico’s iconic vacation hubs, filled with white beaches and endless activities such as parasailing, jet-skiing, snorkeling, and horseback riding. Even though Cabo has increasingly become more touristy, October is the ideal off-season month for a calm but fun getaway. During the day, visit El Arco, Land’s End and Lover’s Beach, just at the end of the Baja peninsula. Approximately every four years, the tide changes and the beach emerges so you can walk under the Arch. Take a water taxi or a glass bottom boat when the tide is up. Go for a swim at Lover’s Beach along Land’s End that looks into the bay - perfect area for swimming and water sports.

Craving farm-to-table Mexican and Mezcal food? Dine at one of Cabo’s signature restaurants Flora Farms, located deep in the Baja desert. Afterwards, swing by the Cape Rooftop for happy hour. The rooftop is beautifully designed with flowery plants, hidden nooks and panoramic views of the marina and El Arco. After your nightcap, take a walk along the beach in the moonlight.

3. Sardinia, Italy

Have you ever wanted to escape to a luxurious island off the coast of Italy during low tourist season? Or have an emerald beach all to yourself? Your dream might become reality. Sardinia is home to several pearl-white sandy beaches and clear, turquoise waters.

Discover popular beach towns like Porto Cervo and Costa Smeralda with fabulous beaches and interesting local events and festivals. Stroll through Porto Cervo’s marina, lined with ritzy yachts and shops. Before visiting the beaches, don’t forget to bring the Sea Star Beachwear essentials (espadrilles, fisherman tote and voyager tote) along - all lightweight and durable, and are created for travel and endless adventures!

4. Nantucket, Massachusetts

Home to a preppy and nautical New England charm, Nantucket Island is calling you bACK! While the weather is still warm, take a sailboat out to the Nantucket sound and go bike riding along the nature paths before you hit the beach. Sea Star Beachwear espadrilles are the perfect closed-toe shoe for both activities. Be sure to visit the Great Point lighthouse with great beach views and neighborly seals.

For live jams and fun vibes, check out what’s brewing at Cisco Brewers, an acclaimed brewery, vineyard and distillery. The adult playground always promises a good time with a variety of signature spirits, beers and oysters! If you can’t get enough of live music by nightfall, visit The Chicken Box bar, best for its jazz and blues bands on the island.
