EMERGENCY RELIEF FROM BRILAND AID
At Sea Star Beachwear, we have a history of collaborating with philanthropic organizations that support causes that we are passionate about! For our new Resort 2021 Palm Collection, we are thrilled to be donating a portion of the collection’s profits to the Bahamas-based non-profit, Briland Aid! Created in 2020 in response to the Covid-19 crisis, Briland Aid works to provide emergency relief and ensure the long-term wellbeing of Harbour Island and its people. Because the residents of Harbour Island rely heavily on the income they derive from tourism, the pandemic’s effect on travel left the majority of Harbour Island’s inhabitants without a financial safety net. Briland aid’s efforts range from providing basic essentials, such as food, fresh, drinkable water, and electricity, to building and restoring vital infrastructures.
A SOLE-FUL COLLABORATION
Sea Star Beachwear is thrilled to announce its support of and collaboration with Ocean Sole.
Kenyan-based, Ocean-Sole artisans up-cycle over 100,000 pounds of discarded flip-flops every year - transforming the raw material into unique hand-carved sculptures.
Sea Star Beachwear has donated over 150 pairs of its classic Beachcomber Espadrilles to protect the volunteers’ feet from the mangroves, coral, debris, and hot sand while cleaning the beaches.
Additionally, 100% of proceeds from each sale supports Ocean Sole Artisans.
turning discarded shoes into opportunities
Soles4Souls makes it easy to donate gently-used shoes. With each donation, the organization can provide relief in disaster struck areas, fight poverty by creating small clothing resale businesses in developing countries, and protect the planet by repurposing unwanted items.
Sea Star Beachwear has donated 275+ pairs of shoes.
